Curriculum

PIA us A.C.E. Program (also known as School of Tomorrow Program), an international Bible-based curriculum for students from pre-school and kindergarten up to grade 12 level. However, because of space limitation, PIA only start from kindergarten, not pre-school. A.C.E – S.O.T program has been tried and proven to be very effective in teaching all the basic academic disciplines as well as instilling Godly character into the lives of students. The program can be summarized in following seven Key Foundational Concepts:

A.C.E. School of Tomorrow System concepts are based on the following Five Basic Laws of Learning:

A child must be at a level where he can perform.

He/she must have reasonable goals.

His/her learning must be controlled, and he must be motivated.

His/her learning must be measurable.

His/her learning must be rewarded.

Based on these principles, the A.C.E. curriculum assures parents of:

A solid, mastery, back-to-basics education for their child.

A course of study diagnostically individualized to meet a student’s specific learning needs and capabilities.

A program incorporating Scripture, Godly character building, and wisdom principles.

A curriculum using advanced computer technology to help ensure the finest education possible in today’s high-tech climate.

The ACE program has 2 pathways for graduation at grade 12 in preparation for tertiary education:

a)  UK Pathway: The ICCE (International Certificate of Christian Education) is recognized by UK NARIC as pre-tertiary qualification comparable to the CIE O-levels and A-levels.

(b)  US Pathway: Lighthouse Christian Academy(LCA), the official distance-learning provider for ACEM®, provides an accredited high-school diploma that is recognized in the USA and internationally. LCA is accredited by three accrediting agencies:

1)  Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS).

2)  the National Council for Private Schools Accreditation (NCPSA).

3)  Accreditation International (AI).

At PIA, we only follow US Pathway, not UK Pathway.
The core curriculum is taught in English and consists of Math, English, Social Studies (Geography and History), Science, Word Building, and Literature & Creative Writing.
PIA also provides Myanmar and Chinese language classes. Through these language classes, we provide teaching of Myanmar social studies, including history and culture. Along with the academic program are other activities through the year which provide students with opportunities to improve and showcase their natural and learned abilities and talents, like in Regional Student Conventions, extra-curricular activities, and field trips. Regional Student Conventions also enable our students to meet and interact with students on the same program from other parts of the country and in the region. Physical Education (PE) is a compulsory weekly activity. Extracurricular activities (ECAs) such as field trips, art and craft lessons, music classes, educational talks, are incorporated as a regular part of the school program. We also include interest groups and enrichment classes for writing skills, typing and computer classes, music, art, dance, and other music skills, in particular those needed for the students to prepare for the regional student conventions.
